Accounts Payable Team Leader – Global Business Services
We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Global Business Services Team. The department provides a great opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest Accounts Payable Teams. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain practical experience in Financial Control, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger accounting, who are interested in pursuing a career in Finance.
You will be part of a large team, which works at pace, ensuring the accurate processing and payment of supplier invoices, safeguarding our master data and system access and providing great customer service to a wide range of internal and external customers. You will have a strong team work ethic, attention to detail and enjoy developing working relationships. This role provides many opportunities to further develop both your technical and behavioural capabilities with various study support schemes available and a wealth of experience and knowledge across the department.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Team Management: Provide clear supervision, direction and development opportunities for colleagues Reporting: Producing meaningful reporting to the business and leadership to drive accountability, accuracy and actions to ensure targets are delivered. Process Improvement: Continually challenge process to ensure we are operating in the most effective and efficient way Technology: Lead, support and help implement changes and technology solutions that have an impact on the operation and colleagues Build relationships with Business area: Understand relevant business area that your team supports; building strong relationships to ensure high levels of customer service are delivered to both internal and external customers Work closely with Financial Control and Compliance teams: Understand and support other teams within the business to ensure controls are maintained, regularly reviewed and challenged
About you:
Business Awareness: You will be responsible for operational transactions which impact business performance so an ability to understand and challenge the operational and financial control is essentialLeadership: This role will have direct Line Manager responsibility for a team of Accounts Assistants. Some experience of leading a transactional team would be an advantage Ethics and Compliance: Strong pride in ensuring we adhere to Asda’s ethics and compliance policies and procedures. Experience of working within a financial control or audit environment would be an advantage Networking: Capable of building strong relationships across the business at all levels Teamwork: Being able to work as part of a wider team to get results Communication: Have and effective and clear communication style Influence: The ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
