The role of Assistant Manager is:-

To support the General Manager to effectively
execute his/her duties in delivering sales and profit and assist in all aspects
of the management of the pub and the development of the team to ensure
performance consistently meets the expected standard..



The assistant manager
consistently needs to achieve required standards by working hands on to
maintain the motivation of a well trained team. The team must deliver a high
quality offering that achieves all the standards of food safety and service.
The assistant manager should demonstrate a customer focused approach at all
times



The assistant manager should be
capable of working with minimal supervision and set a good example of behaviour
and responsibility and establish respect amongst the pub team. He /she should
be outgoing and an articulate communicator, able to speak easily and in rapport
with both customer and team member.





General Duties:



* Deputise in the management of
the pub whilst General Manager is on rest days, holiday or absent

* Ensure that at all times all public
areas and facilities are ready for operation and access by customers and maintained
in a clean, tidy and hygienic state

* Ensure that all back of house
working, rest and storage areas are maintained in a clean tidy and hygienic
state

* When requested assist in
management of cash and banking according to the company policy and ensure that
all aspects of the business are controlled and precautions taken to ensure the
security of personnel, stock and cash

* Actively
respond to feedback from all areas of the business.

* Deal effectively and
empathetically with customer feedback and complaints

* Achieve margins through good
waste management, stock rotation and portion control.

* Control
and review stock counts with all team members

* Ensure
that orders and deliveries by self and team, fully comply with house


policies, standards and legislative requirements.

* Ensure that all team comply
with all health and safety issues and promote a safe and sensible approach to
work

* Ensure
all equipment is maintained in sound / safe working order.

* Ensure
all specifications are followed in food and drink preparation.

* Produce
team rotas and work within the budgets.

*
Communicate ideas to all departments.

* Take
responsibility for personal development and career path.

* Maintain
training records.

* Conduct
handover meetings with on coming team.

* Identify
any training needs for self and others.

* Be actively involved in recruiting and
development of team members.

* Be fully
conversant with all current legislation in food safety, food hygiene

and employment
law.

* Be
computer literate to complete all necessary administration tasks.

The purpose of your role will be to support the General Manager to manage a high volume business within a complex food operation, but also having a commercial eye to spot potential opportunities to push the site forward. Leading and developing a large team will be another key part in your role along with keeping the customer in the heart of everything you do.

About you:

You will be an experienced Assistant/ Deputy Manager who has a proven track record in food led pub/restaurant business. This would be a great step for you if you are comfortable running sites in excess of £25,000 turnover a week.
With a genuine passion for customer service and an array of leadership skills, you'll have management experience in fast-paced, high volume businesses. One day, we hope you'll pick up the keys to your very own Farmhouse Inn, so we're looking for someone who thrives on responsibility, naturally does a little bit more and has that unflappable enthusiasm that will inspire the team and deliver outstanding success. You also will have the desire to progress through the Greene King structured management development programme.
