Job role of Host/Hostess:

Duck & Waffle is now looking for a Host/Hostess to join the reception team as we enter one of our busiest periods near Liverpool Street.

The Host/Hostess is responsible for ensuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests, and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience.

The ideal candidate for Host/Hostess:

  • At least 1 year of guest service or reception experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and most holidays
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Answer phones in a prompt manner with appropriate scripting 
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Great and direct guests to coatrooms and waiting areas such as Bar and/or lounge
  • Must have a professional and well-groomed appearance, as he/she is the first impression of the restaurant 
  • Ability to multi-task and follow directions
