We're looking for an experienced General Manager who is commercially savvy, has strong leadership and communication skills to manage our passionate team at our King’s Cross restaurant. You’ll have a true passion for our food and inspire your team to do the same. You should have at least 3 years of managerial experience in a fast paced, premium casual dining restaurant.


A little about the role:
• The position reports directly to the Operations Director. You will also work closely with the Head Chef and Management team of the restaurant as well as the Operations team.
• Acting as an ambassador for our brand, you will uphold and deliver the highest standards in customer service. You will lead by example and challenge all those who work in your restaurant to achieve high standards of service, quality, and presentation.
• You will ensure consistency in the restaurants on every service, ensuring that dishes produced by the kitchen and delivered by your service team always reflect the Granger & Co. brand image and are consistent in standard.
• As the General Manager, you will assist with implementing menu change twice a year.
• You will also oversee training and development of all your restaurant staff, ensuring that all levels of skill and ability are under continuous development.
• You will be responsible for the management of health & safety and all food hygiene within the restaurant, ensuring correct systems, procedures are in place and that all documentation required to conform to legislation is completed and up to date.
• You will be a commercial operator and manage all costs and budgets to ensure an effective sales, EBITA and GPs are achieved.
• Collaborating with the Operations Director and HR, you will support the recruitment of staff for both Front of House and Back of House, ensuring that we recruit the best candidates for our restaurant.
A little about you:
• Previous experience as a General Manager, managing a high volume, fast paced casual fine dining concept is essential.
• Our menus are one hundred percent fresh and we create classic drinks and dishes which engender a sense of that relaxed Sydney sunshine at any time of day. Therefore, a real understanding and empathy for our brand and values will be key.
• A General Manager who has a passion and knowledge of world-wide cuisine, and is driven to develop their team to achieve their highest standards.
• You have previous experience in successfully communicating, leading, motivating and managing teams with a consistent approach, across multiple sites.
• You are outgoing, energetic, positive and have the personality and passion to motivate teams and build a strong team work ethic.
• You must have previous experience of working with online stock control systems, personnel systems and Microsoft office.
• You are a strong commercial operator and can show evidence of successfully driving sales, managing budgets, stock and influencing a profitable GP.
