Assistant General Manager - The Avalon - Clapham, London

The Avalon in Clapham are looking for a talented assistant manager to join their team. The Avalon is a very busy and popular pub serving high volumes of food and drink. We are looking for a confident and competent person to assist the general manager.

The role includes:

• Maintaining excellent service at the table and at the bar
• Training of new staff  
• Managing a large team of staff during very busy shifts
• Managing a large venue with multiple service areas, inside and out
• Assisting the general manager in every aspect of the day to day running of the pub

The candidate must have:

• An enthusiastic, energetic and friendly personality, with a passion for providing excellent customer service 
• At least one year’s experience in a busy, fast paced, pub environment, some experience of nightclubs and large functions would be beneficial 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Confidence to manage a large team of up to 25 staff and up to 400 customers
• Flexibility with working hours – must be available evenings and weekends
