Chef Manager / Kitchen Manager - Yum Bun - Covent Garden, London

Permanent 40hr contract | Immediate start | £12.00 per hour

Yum Bun are seeking a highly organised and fast-paced chef or experienced cook to join our team at Yum Bun Seven Dials Market - Covent Garden. (WC2H).

This Role will include general chef responsibilities as well as managing your team, working alongside the site  General Manager 

  • Varying shifts Monday to Sunday (8:00am - 11:45pm)

Yum Bun has been winning hearts and stomachs on London’s street food scene since 2010. We are a growing business and now have 2 full time outlets in Old Spitalfields Market and Canary Wharf, and 3 part time outlets at 'Street Feast's permanent night markets.

As our chef you will be handling very busy, quick paced services in a small space. Our preparation is meticulous, ingredients are high quality and every bun that leaves the kitchen is perfectly put together.

Your role will be to be in charge of the majority of fresh prep on site and be in charge of the cook line during peak services. (We have a central Kitchen when we produce much of the product). However, we work in small teams and expect everyone to work together and learn each other's roles. We need someone who can manage our team, and help to nurture new talent. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a love of food and an understanding of quality.
  • Be a people person and enjoy working with the team members to ensure a smooth running of the kitchen and that standards are kept up at all times.
  • You will be overseeing other team members who will be assembling the hot and cold ingredients prepared by you.
  • Be skilled and quick at food preparation
  • Have experience working on a fast-paced cook line.
  • This will be an open kitchen.
  • Have qualifications in food hygiene and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of Asian food would of course be a bonus, but is not essential, as we will provide full training.
  • Be highly organised.
