General Manager - London

Gaucho are looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to join one of our restaurants in London. Gaucho restaurants takes inspiration from Argentina with a vision of bringing the world’s best steak to London, with our food and wine menus having a contemporary global influence. We pride ourselves on offering  deliver exceptional service to every guest. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced restaurant operator, being fully accountable for guest experience, finance, sales growth, legal compliance and team development. The General Manager will work closely with the Operations Director on projects and will take full ownership of them. They will be an ambassador for the business, leading by example, passionate about team engagement and ongoing development as well as driving the business forward. We are proud to invest in our people to deliver memorable service to every guest, meaning we need leaders who are ambitious, team-focused and charismatic to steer our venues to the next stage of success.

Key Responsibilities

• Fully accountable for full team objectives and development planning
• Yearly budget planning,  and maximising covers whilst protecting the guest experience
• Managing financials by plans to drive sales, ongoing P&L work and beat budgets
• Effectively management of rotas, employee relation issues and recruitment
• Practices an open-door policy with the team and makes time to ensure employee welfare
• Drives the Gaucho culture and manages both the team and senior members
• Ensuring compliance throughout the business, with the team being fully trained to the correct level, and personally being trained to the correct level.
• 95% and above on food audits and shield health and safety.
• A focus on the guest feedback and mystery diner results and feedback
• Leading marketing initiatives

Requirements

•  An in-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry and experience of managing a quality led business, Gaucho is inspired to offer impeccable, memorable service everyday - so we need leaders with experience of quality service and fresh food please as we offer the finest Argentinian food and wine. 
• Financially confident, with experience of P&L and GP management, driving sales and meeting commercial targets
• Strong experience managing a successful restaurant and all levels of your restaurant teams. 
• WSET Level 2
• Excellent communicator, and aspirational leader who can coach and mentor their teams.
• Project management, strong understanding of HR, health and safety compliance, local marketing and finance
