We are looking to recruit an ambitious, talented and passionate Catering and Hospitality Manager for our 8 member clubs, based within Wallingford Sports Park.

You’ll be responsible for providing catering for our 2,500 members and 60+ coaches and their various events and gatherings.

We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of the hospitality business, a passion for quality locally sourced ingredients and an imagination that enables a varied and enticing menu whatever the occasion- be it a summer BBQ or a sit-down meal for member clubs and Trust events. As well as the day to day operation of our 3 bars and coordinating events, outreach into the community and catering for community activities.

You’ll need catering skills, obviously, but training will be available too. The most important thing is someone hands on, someone who is looking to step up, progress their career and someone that is able to create a range of menus and food options.

This role would be perfect for someone wanting to take there first steps into hospitality management.

We have a small team here, Wallingford Sports Park is made up of 26 acres, on the outskirts of Wallingford. The Park has the facilities: -

  • 3 full size football pitches
  • 5 full size rugby pitches
  • All-weather astro-turf pitch suitable for many sports including hockey and 5/6/11 a-side football
  • 5 all-weather tennis courts
  • Petanque
  • Archery range
  • 3 squash courts including 1 glass back
  • Skittles alley
  • a small hall
  • a larger hall
  • 2 meeting rooms
  • 2 dart boards
  • 3 bars

The sports park is run by Wallingford Sports Trust, with the continued growth of Wallingford, use of the park is set to increase. We have ambitious plans and we are looking for someone who shares that ambition.

For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to progress and gain further skills and qualifications, as well as pick up additional hours. This role will ideally enable you to progress into an Assistant Manager position in the future.
