M Restaurants are looking for a professional and experienced General Manager, to come and join our fantastic team at M Restaurant in Threadneedle Street, Bank to provide high-end guest service. This is a role where you will need to hit the ground running, with your knowledge already at a high level, for what is an integral role for the business. The ideal candidate will be an experienced restaurant operator, being fully accountable for guest experience, finance, sales growth, legal compliance and team development. They will be an ambassador for the business, leading by example and driving the business, reporting to the Restaurant Operations Director. 

 A multi award-winning city hotspot housing a destination cocktail bar, wine tasting tables, out Grill restaurant, secret whiskey room, private members lounge and four private dining and event spaces. Therefore, we are looking for a hungry restaurant operator who can lead a team to success in this destination, whilst ensuring that elevated hospitality remains paramount. You will have full accountability for your P&L and It is not easy spinning multiple plates, so we need a passionate General Manager to ensure that all guests can enjoy a journey through the senses, amplified experiences, elevated hospitality and a welcoming spirit.

You will:

  • Have a passion for premium hospitality and exceptional service standards with attention to detail
  • Have previous experience running a high-volume restaurant, and be able to cope well in a high-pressure, multi faceted environment
  • Be very comfortable executing a wide range of exciting and varied events and activations, transforming your business in to a versatile, multi-faceted events space at a drop of a hat
  • Be a great collaborator, comfortable with marketing and sales teams regarding great events organisation and planning
  • Knowledge of Open Table, Fourth Hospitality and Health and Safety procedures
  • Be a Brand Ambassador for this one of a kind, interactive gastro playground
  • Have a WSET Level 2 and a strong knowledge of wine and cocktails
  • Manage the day to day restaurant operations and ensure smooth running of all aspects of the business
  • Be an excellent communicator and aspirational leader, able to manage up to the Restaurant Operations Director and to your teams below. 
  • Drive a strong focus on guest feedback and mystery diners reporting
  • Drive the M culture and practice an open-door policy with the team, making time to ensure employee development and welfare remain paramount
