Director of Revenue - Central London

As our Director of Revenue, you will work in partnership with our Managing Director, Senior Executive team and Corporate Revenue teams to oversee our Revenue function here in London. You will assume overall responsibility for creating and driving our Revenue strategy across the hotel; from the production of our detailed day by day budget annual plan to our weekly forecast for the business. You’ll review and set weekly and daily pricing strategies to ensure this aligns with our competitors and pace of demand, implementing yield management techniques to maximise sales and grow RGI. Over the longer term you will play a key role in defining our annual sales plan across all market segments in order to increase market share, average rate and RevPAR.

A key aspect of your role will be the management of our inventory across all our distribution channels, making sure that these are optimised and managed accordingly. You will also work closely with our Sales and Marketing Directors to develop packages and specials which engage and excite our guests by offering something a little bit different and that is anything but Standard! With the support of our Reservations Manager, you will manage a small team of Reservations Sales Agents, which you will be responsible for coaching and developing to ensure the overall revenue strategy are met and in line with the hotels’ wider sales objectives.

The production of statistics and reporting will naturally be pivotal to your role as you will provide both our ownership, corporate team and hotel leadership with a range of weekly and monthly reports to support wider business decisions. With 4 new hotel openings across the European Region [Ibiza, Lisbon, Dublin & Brussels] this role will support new openings and eventually develop into a regional remit over the coming years.

This is not a ‘Standard’ Director of Revenue position so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.

Do you have what it takes to be our Director of Revenue at The Standard

Here at The Standard, we take a slightly different approach and look far and wide for individuals that bring a unique perspective with them to our team (not a 5 page CV). We do not ask you to conform, read from a script or follow the rules (ok sometimes there are rules) but not when it comes down to you being able to express yourself or celebrate your individuality.

While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging. You’ll intrinsically understand the unique microcosm and the context of our venues and city you represent.

Prior experience as a Director of Revenue is essential; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only pre-empt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

  • • Minimum of 5 years as a Director of Revenue ideally gained in a similar Luxury 5 star ‘Lifestyle’ property or boutique hotel sector
  • • Candidates must have a solid understanding and detailed knowledge of the London Hotel market
  • • Have prior experience of developing revenue budgets, pricing strategies and hotel sales plans combined with a creative ‘blue sky’ approach in developing bespoke sales and promotional activities that deliver true ROI.
  • • Solid commercial acumen
  • • Experience of producing a range of monthly revenue reports for both Corporate Office & Private Ownership.
  • • Expert abilities in the following systems STR, Duetto RMS, OTA Insight, TravelClick, SiteMinder, CRS systems, Opera PMS & distribution channels

All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates.
