Café Manager – Hyde Park, London

Contract: Permanent, following a 6-month probationary period

Salary: £32,000.00 - £35,000.00

Park Sports are a growing public sports centre operator and all of our venues are in fantastic locations across London offering great opportunities for culture, leisure and a variety of sports supported by thriving cafes. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment for all our customers.

We are looking to recruit a Cafe Manager at Hyde Park to join a well-established team which has a great working culture and value their people. As café manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of café operations, from staff management, menu development and customer service. The Café is open all year round from 7am until 9pm – Monday to Sunday serving a selection of barista style coffees, pizza, salads, sandwiches and a large selection of bakery items. The ideal candidate will possess excellent management and customer service skills, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the Cafe, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Organising staff rotas/timesheets.
  • Recruitment, training and managing the performance of the team through ongoing evaluations, listening and mentoring.
  • To continuously work towards improving sales and service.
  • Managing inventory and ordering to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • To ensure the customer experience is always maintained to the highest standard
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility.
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of Park Sports vision, mission and values

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Café Manager or similar role.
  • Experience on inventory, stock control and staff scheduling
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Proficiency in POS systems and other relevant software
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Please include a covering letter stating experience and qualifications
