GLL makes community services and spaces better for everyone. And it’s about more than just money. Our people invest time, energy and effort into helping and improving communities through the services we offer - and with great results. Through “Better” we provide leisure centres, children’s services, spas, libraries, extreme spots, event spaces and standalone gyms.

GLL is looking for a Catering Supervisor to work from our brand new New Barnet Leisure Centre. The centre opens this August and is one of our most state of the art venues yet. As a social enterprise, we want to be able to offer something for everyone, so the centre will encompass two pools, a cafe, tennis courts, multi use games area, health improvement rooms, functional fitness area and gym as well being one of our first venues to be cashless and offer facial recognition entrance technology.

As Catering Supervisor, you'll ensure our visitors and customers have the best of experiences during their visits. You'll see that your team of catering assistants have excellent customer service, food handling and preparation skills. As the most senior member of staff for the cafe, you'll be a key holder and will need to open and close the cafe kitchens.

Experienced in catering and hospitality management and with a working knowledge of legislation relating to catering venues, you'll understand everything from event catering to day to day cafe work. You'll ideally have a relevant level 3 qualification as well as barista knowledge. It is essential that you have a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. With front of house experience, you'll be a great people person, inspiring your team as well as welcoming our customers. Your front of house experience will include cash handling and customer service, as well as being able to run and develop an efficient business which is accessible and affordable to all.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Ride to work scheme
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you're hard-working, passionate, flexible and love working with people, apply now.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
