Cleaning and Catering Assistant | Harplands Hospital - Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: 17,460.00 (pro-rata)

Type: Part-Time (27.5hrs) - 5.5hrs per day, 5 days out of 7 (shifts between 8am and 8pm)

Location: Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning & Catering Assistant at Harplands Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.

You will be responsible for providing a high quality cleaning, catering and general support service to the ward based team, ensuring a pleasant, homely environment for the patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain the work area in line with work schedules, ensuring a safe environment for all 
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used correctly and then cleaned and stored away after use 
• Set tables and correctly serve patients with 3 main meals per day, in addition to any drinks/snacks required 
• Take the temperature of meals before serving 
• Ensure accurate records are kept of all food temperatures and amounts of daily food wastage 
• Clear and load the dishwasher with all patients crockery and cutlery ensuring that there are always enough clean items for meal times 
• Liaise with Nurses and catering staff regarding number of patients and any special food requirements to ensure patients are provided with the correct meals 
• Help and support patient in choosing their food and drinks where necessary

Person Specification:

Previous experience in a similar cleaning or catering role is preferred but not essential as training will be provided along with :

• Able to obtain certificate in Food Hygiene if not already held 
• Experience in a customer focused environment 
• Able to work with minimum supervision 
• Clear communicator 
• Caring and compassionate attitude
