Cleaning Supervisor - Plymouth Hospital, Derriford

Hours: 37.5hrs pw, 2 week rota (Week 1 - Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun and Week 2 Mon-Fri), shifts are 2pm-10pm

Salary: Up to £20,448.00 (plus shift enhancements for Saturday +36% and Sunday +72% after 20:00pm +36%)

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic/Cleaning Supervisor to join our team. The purpose of this role will be to ensure an effective and efficient Hotel Service is delivered within the clinical area for which the job role holder is responsibility.  They will provide support to the Cleaning Assistants, Ward Housekeepers, Ward Hostesses and Porters within the area.  To effectively deploy staff and resources to ensure a high quality of service delivery.  Ensure Food Hygiene, Patient Meals, cleanliness and hygiene standards within the hospital environment are monitored and maintained. Ensure all waste is removed correctly and all help desk requests are assigned and completed within the correct time scales. Assist the Patient Services Managers in areas relevant to their training and experience.

• Good Communication Skills including verbal and written English
• Good Customer Care Skills
• A good team player who will work well with different types of people
• Manual handling/risk assessment/fire safety training would be useful but not essential           
• Level 3 food Hygiene

About Us:

The Derriford Hospital site which forms part of the Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust has approximately 850 inpatient beds based on one site.  The site is approximately 95,000sqm.  The post holder will be responsible for the deployment on a daily basis of a team of Cleaning Assistants, Ward Housekeepers, Ward Hostesses and Porters within a prescribed area.  The post holder will be required to work flexibly between wards, departments and public areas assisting with tasks where necessary.
